I'll walk with you one day my friend in lavish fields of green. Where heather crested mountains lie so far beyond the sea. And musky scented nature sighs, whispering through the leaves. You'll be waiting there for me, in innocence and purity, the joy my eyes have sought to see, that now may only grieve. Together we have traveled far, through Hades fury sent. And though time passed so slowly then, now wonder where it went. I held you close my little one and watched you grow and play. To love is such a precious thing, it rests a moment, then takes wing, and breaks the heart that longs to sing, for you have gone away. But I have many years to go and others I will love. They too shall come and fill my soul, but none can stand above. When my day draws to a close, this body worn with pain, there's yet a peace I may abide, my heart has held it deep inside, with reminiscent tears I've cried, that we shall meet again. © David J.
