Welcome
“Engenium Anti Copian”
The Philosophy of Art…
To be truly exceptional, one must first set upon a specific
philosophical mark. For us, it is in seeking continual and validated
improvement, with our aim-point squarely aligned with the Poodle
Club of America (PCA) standard.
Over the years, many have hailed a plethora of “new and improved”
conformational changes. But the truth is, not everything that’s
“new” is “improved”. In roughly 100 years, various styles have come
and gone according to the whims of individual breeders or the
fashion trends set by that year’s leading show special. But the
standard rarely changes, and it’s that anchor which steadies our
breeding decisions.
We’re not concerned with impressing judges nor to exemplify our
personal tastes, always holding to what the written standard
dictates. Health is also a major consideration, and we do not
compromise when it comes to producing sound offspring.
Averaging less than one litter per year, we do not spawn fodder for
the pet market. Thus, of those born here, many have done well,
earning honors in numerous venues across the US as well as
abroad.
Through this dedication to quality, it is our hope that over time, the
true value of the Aircastle line will be found in how well we’ve
conserved the form, function, health, temperament and tradition of
this incredible breed.
In Pursuit of Excellence ...
The key to quality breeding is to produce
Poodles that conform as closely as possible to
the breed standard. That is for what we strive
and it is the criteria by which our dogs are
selected, bred, and measured.
The comparison below is an example of our
breeding program. On the left is GrCH
Aircastle’s Hope Diamond, and on the right is
the head study from the PCA illustrated
standard. Neither picture has been altered
beyond the blending of one into the next.
This conformance is by design; not by
accident!
